What Is SOAL Wildcrafting

SOAL (South Alabama) Wildcrafting: (A Permaculture Experiment)

I'm thinking about moving back to Alabama and working my family farm. I will be permanently back on the farm starting in January 2012. Life's journey has taken me around the world but since moving to New York in 2002 I’ve been drawn back to the land. It started with a small trash-heap of a back yard in Brooklyn, then roof-top farms appeared, and backyard chicken coups, now there are farms all over the city!

Can a rambling hippie and reluctant farmer make a permaculture experiment work in Brewton, Alabama? Is anyone in the state of Alabama interested in Food Sovereignty? Do people care about Land and Community anymore? These are things I need to figure out, and with the help of farm culturists, funky critters, and your down home political common sense I hope to do just that.

Please join me.
